Talk about bizarre names. The cover’s even more outrageous—a cross between the glam-funk, era of ‘80’s funk and an out-there, medieval costume theme. The music’s a little atmospheric, I suppose, but generally it’s ‘80’s dancefloor funk and boogie, so I have no explanation for where the Arthurian ideology came from. Regardless, this record is really hard to find an original pressing of, and once again, a dealer’s disregard was my gain—three dollars later I had a rare slab of wax, and he just lounged behind his hipster eyes, probably dreaming of his next clothes-shopping run to the Goodwill. At any rate, I got home and placed the needle on the first cut, and sublime realization followed…as rare groove classics like “Mr. Magician” and “Full Moon” blared out of the speakers, I could already picture rockin’ these jams at my next DJ gig. All because some cat didn’t know what this platter was about. Serendipity!
